Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels is one of the most successful satirical novels of all time. A Journey to Lilliput takes us to the land of the dwarves. The relationship between the small and the large is put into a new light, and the author portrays man as ridiculous in his smallness and repulsive in his greatness. This is a cruel satire, not only about 18th-century England, but also about man and humanity itself. The basic message of the work seems to never lose its relevance.
