The encyclopedist

Tamás Ungvári's four-volume encyclopedia series has a festive appearance in the gift box for the author's 85th birthday, and volumes evoking both known and forgotten figures of the past are available together. In his highly successful encyclopedias, Tamás Ungvári created a new genre: his historical miniatures, his historical grotesques from the 20th century. The little-known stories of the 20th century are revealed to us: forgotten and anonymous heroes are present in these laughing, at times still teasing true tales, as well as leaders of great politics, figures in Hungarian cultural history or Nobel and Oscar-winning celebrities.
